Abkhaz Prosecutor-General Backs President-Elect

Abkhaz Prosecutor General Rauf Kodua backed the President-elect Sergey Bagapsh, telling protesters in the Abkhaz capital Sokhumi that the “government does not want to admit defeat [in elections].”

Kodua said his agency has discovered that violations with the election lists were orchestrated by Raul Khajimba, the pro-governmental presidential candidate.

According to the wires, large protest rally are taking place in Sukhumi in support of Sergey Bagapsh.  Estimates of reported attendence range from 10-18 thousand people.
