Ardzinba Signs Order on Re-Vote
Outgoing President of breakaway Abkhazia issued an order on October 29 over holding repeat presidential elections, the Russian news agencies reported.
Ailing Vladislav Ardzinba ordered a re-vote following the controversial ruling of the Abkhaz Supreme Court early on October 29, which canceled the October 3 presidential election results as demanded by the pro-governmental presidential candidate Raul Khajimba. But later, judge of the Supreme Court Giorgi Akaba said that he was under pressure from Khajimba?s supporters; hence the ruling is illegal.
Now the Central Election Commission of the unrecognized republic should appoint the date for a re-vote, which will be held not later than December.
