Sokhumi Warns of Possible ?Incursion? by the Georgian Side
Abkhaz de facto Defense Minister Viacheslav Eshba told Interfax news agency that the Georgian side is preparing for an ?incursion into Abkhazia,? amid the crisis which erupted in the breakaway region after the disputed October 3 presidential elections.
Interfax reported on October 31 quoting Eshba, that Abkhazian forces are on high alert amid reports over a ?concentration of the Georgian troops in the western parts of Georgia, neighboring Abkhazia.?
Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Goga Khaindrava and the governor of Samegrelo region, which neighbors Abkhazia, Gigi Ugulava, both denied the Abkhaz authorities? accusations.
