Saakashvili: Georgia Focuses on Professional Army

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said on November 16 while, speaking at a meeting with the students of the Tbilisi Technical University, that Georgia should have ?professional armed forces.?
 
?The number of conscripts will be reduced, but great attention will be paid to training reserve forces,? Saakashvili added.


?We can train up to 15 thousand reservists per year,? Saakashvili said. He said that the core of the army should be contracted servicemen.
