Ex-Audit Chief Remanded Again in Custody

The Georgian Supreme Court remanded Sulkhan Molashvili, ex-chief of the State Audit Agency, for two more months of pre-trial detention on November 29.

Molashvili, who is accused of the alleged misappropriation of 3 million Lari, has already served a 7-month pre-trial sentence pending investigation.  Under Georgian law this is the last time Molashvili can be remanded, as the law sets 9-months as the longest period of time a prisoner can be held in a pre-trial detention center.
