Khajimba Warns Abkhazia Might Face Split

Pro-governmental presidential candidate Raul Khajimba says that Abkhazia might split into two parts in the event that opposition leader Sergey Bagapsh takes over the presidency in the breakaway region.

?The republic may be divided into two economic zones. One will be under the control of Georgia and the United States, the other ? under the Russian oil company,? news agency Interfax reported on November 30 quoting Khajimba as saying. However, Khajimba did not specify which Russian company.

Raul Khajimba, who is also backed by Moscow, insists on re-vote of disputed October 3 presidential elections while his opponent, opposition candidate Sergey Bagapsh claims victory and prepare for the presidential inauguration scheduled for December 6.
