Border Guard Chief Reiterates Importance of OSCE Border Mentoring
Commander of the Georgian Border Guard Department Badri Bitsadze said on December 14 that the OSCE Border Operation is of vital importance for Georgia, adding that it helps Georgia ?to avoid Russia?s groundless accusations over cross-border movements.?
Badri Bitsadze was speaking with reporters after the meeting with the working group from the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre, which currently is visiting Georgia.
The OSCE Border Operation?s mandate expires in late December. However, due to Russia?s negative position towards the OSCE border monitoring mission, the issue of its extension has come under doubt.
