PACE Discusses Draft Resolution on Georgia
Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) will discuss a draft resolution on honoring of obligation and commitments by Georgia at the session on January 24.
Initially, it was planned to discuss this issue at the session on January 26 ? on the same day, when President Saakashvili will address the PACE session and unveil Tbilisi?s peace plans over Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The draft resolution on Georgia acknowledges the ?unyielding resolve? of Georgia?s government ?to carry out far-reaching political, legal, social and economic reforms.? But, on the other side, however, the document voices strong criticisms against Saakashvili administration stating ?the post-revolutionary situation should not become an alibi for hasty decisions and neglect for democratic and human rights standards.?
