U.S. Official Meets Chief of Tbilisi-based Abkhaz Government

Visiting U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Laura Kennedy met with chairman of the Tbilisi-based Abkhaz government-in-exile Irakli Alasania on February 7.

Irakli Alasania told reporters afer the talks that the possiblity of the U.S. providing assistance in economic rehabilitation programs for breakaway Abkhazia was discussed during the meeting.
