U.S. Funds Construction of Facilities for Georgian Troops
Through the employment of U.S. financial assistance, construction and improvement of military facilities, including five barracks that house a total of 650 soldiers at the Krtsanisi training center near Tbilisi, was launched on February 23.
This is a part of a large-scale U.S. military assistance program which has been allocated a total of USD 60.5 million by the U.S. government.
This ‘Sustainment and Stability Operations Program’ (SSOP) also envisages training Georgian troops in peace support operations.
