U.S.-Funded Recruit Training Launched

Georgian military instructors, who have already been trained by American instructors, launched a training of 600 newly recruited servicemen on February 28.

The U.S. Embassy to Georgia reported that the new recruits have been equipped by the U.S side.

Chief of Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Levan Nikolaishvili told reporters that these newly trained servicemen will join those 4 battalions which were trained by the U.S. military instructors in 2002-2004 under the Georgia Train-and-Equip Program (GTEP).
