Georgia, U.S. Discuss Military Cooperation

Defense officials from Georgia and the United States are meeting in Atlanta on September 17-19 to review defense reforms in Georgia and the country?s NATO integration process and to identify Georgia?s defense priorities.


Batu Kutelia, the deputy defense minister and Irakli Gogava, chief-of-staff of the armed forces, are representing Georgia, while Daniel Fata, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for European and NATO policy, is the U.S. representative.


Bilateral activities for 2008 are also expected to be discussed and outlined, the Georgian Defense Ministry reported.
