Georgia Set up Special Center to Tackle South Ossetia Crisis
Georgia set up a special center with the headquarters in the Georgian village of Eredvi in South Ossetia, to coordinate activities of the Georgian government in order to overcome current crisis in the breakaway region.
?Interior Minister Irakli Okruashvili will chair the coordination center in Eredvi. The main purpose of this center will be to avoid Georgia?s engagement in the armed conflict, which is so vigorously provoked by the South Ossetian side and certain forces in Russia,? President Saakashvili said at a specially convened news briefing in Tbilisi on July 10.
