Saakashvili Meets with Adjarian Cabinet Members

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with the members of the cabinet of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, in Batumi on August 2.

Further the activities of the newly-elected cabinet and problems persisting in the region were the issues discussed during the meeting. 

On July 30 the Adjarian Parliament approved the four-member cabinet of the Autonomous Republic with a 23 to 2 vote. The opposition Republican Party represented the two dissenting votes for the new cabinet.
