Mine Blast Injures Seven in Adjara
Seven people were wounded after their off-road vehicle exploded on a mine in the seaside village of Chakvi in the Adjara Autonomous Republic on August 21.
More mines have been uncovered in the area after a mine-clearing operation was launched.
Georgian officials allege that the seacoast was mined by the previous authorities of Adjara during the standoff between the Georgia’s central government and Adjara’s deposed ex-leader Aslan Abashidze in late April.
