EU, Russian Envoys Discuss South Ossetia

Visiting EU special representative for the South Caucasus countries Heikki Talvitie met with Russian Ambassador to Georgia Vladimir Chkhikvishvili in Tbilisi on August 23 in order to discuss the recent developments in South Ossetian.

?The conflict should be solved only through peaceful means,? Heikki Talvitie told reporters after the meeting.

After talks with the Georgian authorities the EU envoy will visit the capital of breakaway South Ossetian, Tskhinvali, and meet with the President of self-styled republic Eduard Kokoev on August 24.
