EU Grants ?4 Million for Abkhazia Conflict Victims

The European Commission has approved a ?4 million humanitarian aid package to support vulnerable people in Georgia, affected by the conflict in breakaway Abkhazia, according to the press release issued by the EU on August 27.

The recipients will include internally displaced persons currently living in Georgia as well as vulnerable groups in Abkhazia.

Assistance to vulnerable groups will be provided in the following sectors: food, medical support and shelter.
