U.S. Helps Georgian Law Enforcers with Anti-Cyber Crime Training
The U.S.-funded week-long training was held in Tbilisi for the Georgian officials from the law enforcement agencies over the cyber crime issues.
The training, which was coordinated by the newly set up FBI office in Tbilisi, aimed at sharing of the U.S. experience and expertise in fighting cyber crimes. ?Georgia lacks the technical base, as well as well-trained staff to deal with this kind of crimes,? Gela Kvashalava of the Georgian Security Ministry told Civil Georgia.
FBI agent Bryan Paarmann, who is the legal attach? at the U.S. embassy in Tbilisi and who leads the FBI office in Tbilisi says that his office was set up in July 2004 in order ?to conduct liaison, training and share information with the Georgian counterparts.?
?I am here to provide assistance if Georgians will ask for assistance and if I ask them for assistance they will provide it to me. It is exchange of information, exchange of assistance and liaison, also expertise, maybe analyzes of forensic evidence,? Bryan Paarmann told Civil Georgia.
