Okruashvili Says South Ossetia a Safe Haven for Kidnappers
Georgian Interior Minister Irakli Okruashvili said the breakaway South Ossetia has recently become a safe haven for kidnappers.
?In last couple of weeks dozens of people have been kidnapped and we have information that they are kept in detention on the South Ossetian territory,? RIA Novosti news agency reported on October 2, quoting Okruashvili, who participated in the summit of the Interior Ministers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Kiev.
He also said that the Georgian law enforcers have information about particular kidnapper suspects, but the Georgian side fails to arrest them because they hide on South Ossetian territory.
