Prosecutor’s Office: No Criminality Uncovered in Sagarejo MP By-Election Probe
Prosecutor’s Office said it found no evidence of criminality and closed the investigation into allegation that MP by-election in Sagarejo single-mandate constituency last October was rigged.
The investigation was launched on February 25 after MP Gogi Topadze, one of the leaders of the Industrialists Party, a member of the Georgian Dream ruling coalition, accused Defense Minister Tina Khidasheli of the Republican Party, also a member of GD coalition, of manipulating Sagarejo MP by-election. Investigation was opened under the article 332 of criminal code, involving abuse of power.
