Protest actions on Sanaia’s murder have been held throughout the day. Yesterday evening journalists and citizens gathered in front of the State Chancellery. 150 journalists signed a statement, which says: “Murder of Giorgi Sanaia is a result of disorder in the country and the Government must bear responsibility for this chaos. It has become very common to beat up, threaten and discriminate journalists for their professional activities. Law enforcers cynically cover up these crimes, committed by them. With the murder of Giorgi Sanaia, fistful of clans and criminals tried to threaten journalists and a whole society to save themselves”. In this document, journalists demanded rapid completion of investigation process, otherwise they would employ more radical methods of protests.
