Reformers to Sue Prosecutor-General’s Office For Libel

(Tbilisi. November 7. Civil Georgia) – MPs Kote Kemularia and Petre Tsiskarishvili intend to sue Prosecutor-General’s Office for libel. Deputy spokesman of the Prosecutor-General’s Office Temur Kvirkvelia accused Kote Kemularia, Petre Tsiskarishvili and some other representatives of the reformers’ team of being involved in illegal drug business.     

“Prosecutor-General’s Office pursues politicians who have a critical point of view concerning the law enforcement agencies activity,” Kote Kemularia stated.

On May 7 this year Petre Tsiskarishvili, head of secretariat of the former parliamentary chairman Zurab Zhvania, and his fiancee were kidnapped to Pankisi gorge. Identity of the kidnapers and their motives remain unknown. However information has leaked from the law enforcement structures, that Tsiskarishvili’s kidnapping has been connected to his participation in drug business.
