Shevardnadze Denies Putin’s Statement

(Tbilisi. November 12. Civil Georgia) – In reply to the statement of President Putin of Russia, Georgian President said in his radio interview that the Georgian side is ready to invite international observers to monitor Georgian-Russian borderline and “then we will see, who is protecting the border better, we or Russians”.

On November 11 Russian president stated that fighters from the Northern Caucasus are entering Afghanistan through Georgia and Turkey to assist the Taleban .

President Shevardnadze says that he possesses regular updates regarding situation at the border and therefore can state that the allegations of the Russian side are groundless.
