Shevardnadze Condemns Political Parties’ Activities in Universities

(Tbilisi, February 6, Civil Georgia) – “A group of politicians in Georgia are trying to involve the society, especially the students in the political life, this is unacceptable,” President Shevardnadze stated at the government meeting on February 6.

“Political parties are trying to influence on students. Their activity in the universities and institutes in intolerable,” Shevardnadze said. 

The President did not specify which political group he meant.

Students’ Union of Tbilisi State University constantly accuses another organization of students in passing MP Mikheil Saakashvili’s political interests.
