Russian Experts’ Visit to Georgia on Chechen Refugees Postponed
(Tbilisi, February 7, Civil Georgia) – Visit of Russian delegation to Georgia on Chechen refugees’ repatriation issues scheduled for February 7 postponed for the next week, Georgian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Kakha Sikharulidze stated.
Representatives of Russian Interior, Foreign Affairs and Emergency Ministries are to hold detail consultation with the Georgian authorities on return of Chechen refugees living in Pankisi gorge, northeastern mountainous region of Georgia.
According to the Georgian Ministry of Refugees and Settlement approximately 7,700 refugees from Chechnya live in Pankisi at the moment.
