Labors Party Against Votes’ Recounting
(Tbilisi, June 5, Civil Georgia) – Labors Party of Georgia leader Shalva Natelashvili protest against the Central Elections Commission’s (CEC) decision to recount votes in Tbilisi.
Shalva Natelashvili stated at the news briefing on June 5 that CEC’s decision proves that Saakashvili and Zhvania are President Shevardnadze’s allies.
Saakashvili’s National Movement, Christian-Conservative Party – Zurab Zhvania’s Team, Industry will Save Georgia Party and the Socialist Party demanded on June 4 to recount the votes in Tbilisi as numerous procedural violations were reported during the local elections on June 2.
Labors Party is leading the locals according to the preliminary results reported by the CEC. National Movement is on the second place.
