Parties Appeal Court to Cancel Locals’ Results
(Tbilisi, June 11, Civil Georgia) – The National-Democratic Party of Georgia appeals Supreme Court on June 11 to cancel results of the June 2 local self-governance election in Tbilisi.
The Socialist Party of Georgia already appealed the Supreme Court with the same reason on June 10.
The both of the parties demand to cancel the results as they claim the elections were totally forged and they want to recount the votes.
The Central Election Commission took the decision to recount the votes but later canceled the decision and announced the final results of locals in Tbilisi according to which the Labors Party of Georgia obtained the most of the seats in Tbilisi City Council – Sakrebulo.
The National-Democratic party, which was one of the most influential political groups in mid-90s, received only 1,65% of votes. The Socialist Party received – 2,94%. The both of them are left without seats in Tbilisi Sakrebulo.
