Experts Discuss Changes in the Russian Peacekeepers’ Mandate
(Tbilisi, June 19, Civil Georgia) – Georgian and Russian experts discuss changes in the mandate of the Russian peacekeeping troops deployed in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone in Minsk on June 18.
Georgia demands removal of the Russian peacekeepers deeper into the breakaway Abkhazian territory that will enable Georgian IDPs to return to their homes in Gali district of Abkhazia.
Deputy Foreign Minister Merab Antadze leads the Georgian delegation at the consultations.
Abkhazian side is against changes in the Russian peacekeepers’ mandate.
