US Expert, Georgian President Discussed Security Council’s Reorganization

(Tbilisi, June 27, Civil Georgia) – Representative of the US institution for strategic researches and analysis RAND Robert Hunter and Georgian President discussed the reformation of the Georgian National Security Council at the meeting in Tbilisi on June 27.

Georgian President agreed with the US expert that the Security Council should be the think tank center, which will provide with the new ideas and recommendations to the government.

Robert Hunter stated that the functions of the Council should be forecasting, analysis, making recommendations, political planning. This is very complicated issue, he added.  

Tedo Japaridze, Secretary of the Georgian National Security Council intends to reform the Council. In March, when he was appointed on the post, Japaridze said that reorganization of the Security Council would be one of his top priorities.
