Parties Condemn Government’s Criminal Policy
(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, July 12, 2002) – 9 political parties including New National Movement, the New Rights, Traditionalists and National-Democratic Party of Georgia signed a joint statement today condemning the government’s criminal and violent policy towards the opponents.
The parties protest against the government’s policy, which becomes more and more criminal. “The President and the Government more often uses force and violence against its political opponents,” Kote Kemularia of New National Movement stated today.
The parties claim that the government pushes the society towards the confrontation and civil conflict.
The political parties say that the joint statement is a very important event as the several political groups, which are the opponents to each other, could unite against the government’s policy for the first time in the recent year.
