Russia Raised the Issue of Chechen Fighters’ Incursion in UN

(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 1, 2002) – Representation of the Russian Federation to the UN released the statement of the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry on July 31.

Russia demands from Georgia to eradicate the terrorism threat that exits in the country. The statement says that Georgia should fulfill its commitment and take all measures necessary for eradication of terrorism as it is said in the UN antiterrorist conventions.

Russia claims that the Chechen fighters infiltrated into the Russian Federation from Georgia’s Pankisi gorge. Georgia denies the accusation.
