Opposition in Breakaway Abkhazia Hails Cabinet’s Resignation

(Tbilisi. April 10, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Amtsakhara, opposition public political movement uniting veterans of the 1992-93 war welcomed on April 9 breakaway Abkhaz President?s decision to dismiss Premier Gagulia and entire cabinet.

Abkhaz official news agency Apsnipress reports quoting leader of Amtsakhara Vladimir Nachach-Ogli that the opposition?s meeting in the center of Abkhaz capital Sokhumi scheduled for April 10 would be postponed.

Another leader of Amtsakhara movement Merab Kishmaria said that their demand on resignation of the Premier and the cabinet is fulfilled, thus the mass protest rally in Sokhumi will not be held. 

At the briefing on April 9 Nachach-Ogli called the de facto Abkhaz President for the constitutional reforms to overcome political and economic crisis in Abkhazia.
