Burjanadze Supports Government’s Resignation for Budgetary Failure
(Tbilisi, July 14, 2003, Civil Georgia) Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze agrees with the decision of Adjarian Leader Aslan Abashidze, who dismissed the entire government on July 13 due to budgetary shortfall in the Autonomous Republic in the first half of 2003.
“I have numerously advised the Georgian President to raise responsibility of those persons, who are guilty for regular budgetary shortfalls, but in vain,” Burjanadze told the reporters on July 14.
“I do not think that this kind of decision [dismiss of government] will improve the situation,” President Shevardnadze said today at the briefing, while commenting the decision of Aslan Abashidze.
