Ardzinba Accuses Saakashvili of Meddling in Abkhazia’s Affairs

Outgoing President of unrecognized Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba described Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili?s statement over Tbilisi’s readiness to launch dialogues with opposition leader Sergey Bagapsh as ?interference in the internal affairs of Abkhazia.?

?[Saakashvili?s statement] proves that the Georgian leadership is interested in escalating tensions in Abkhazia,? Regnum news agency reports quoting the de facto President of Abkhazia.

Ardzinba stressed that until repeat presidential elections are held, only the representatives of the current President of Abkhazia will participate in Georgian-Abkhaz talks.

On December 3, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said that the Georgian side will hold peace talks over the Abkhaz conflict resolution with Sergey Bagapsh, whom Saakashvili recognized as the President-election of the breakaway region.
