The issue of competing central electoral commission with NGO members was not passed at the Parliament plenary session yesterday. As a result local self-governance elections may be delayed for several weeks, Head of the Parliament Zurab Zhvania stated.
157 MPs were to attend the session hall for approving the central election commission. The issue failed because of the absence of quorum. According to NGO members, the fact once more claims that the majority of MPs do not want the central electoral commission be completed with non-governmental sector.
