On October 19th Georgian Parliament made first steps towards creation of the legislation on the Internet and information technologies. A session, dedicated to the issue has been organized by the Economic Policy Committee of the Parliament and Global Internet Policy Project (Internews).
Representatives of non-governmental sector and businesses have attended the session as well.
Aim of the session was to facilitate to popularization and introduction of the Internet especially into governmental structures. The session also adopted decision to elaborate liberal legislation on the Internet and other information technologies.
Privileges for the organizations, acting on the Net and measures to avoid IT crime were considered as well.
