Special Parliamentary Session to Discuss Actions of the State Security Ministry

Session of the Parliament Bureau on October 31, unanimously decided to invite the Special Session on November 1 to discuss actions of the State Security Ministry.

The parliamentarians supported creation of a special commission, which would develop a legal basis to demand political responsibility of the power ministers in record-short 2-3 days period. Zurab Zhvania, Chairman of the Parliament, stated, “during the period of the commission’s activity, authority of the power structures must be at least suspended”.

The Extraordinary Session must be invited by President. But even in case of President’s refusal to hold the session, the parliamentarians will gather on 11:00 am on November 1st and discuss the issue. The session will continue into the plenary session from the second half of November 2nd automatically.
