The Ranks of Protesters Grow

More than 5,000 people are gathered in front of the Parliament building on Rustaveli central avenue in Tbilisi. More people join the protests.

Mass protest started in front of the independent TV company Rustavi 2 office on October 30 protecting broadcasting company from Security Ministry’s attack. Protest continued in front of Stated Chancellery and Parliament next day.

Protesters demand resignation of Internal Affairs Minister Kakha Targamadze. In case President Shevardnadze does not dismiss Targamadze we will demand Shevardnadze’s resignation as well, protesters announce.

People burned President Shevardnadze and Internal Affairs Minister’s cartoon pictures yesterday.

Representatives of mass media, NGOs, MPs, students and common citizens are protesting in front of the Parliament.
