(Tbilisi. November 6. Civil Georgia) – Pro-presidential faction Tanadgoma nominated Vazha Lordkipanidze on the post of the Parliamentary Chairman on November 6.
Independent MP from provincial district of Bagdati Vazsha Lordkipanidze, with a track record in communist party and, allegedly a strong pro-Russia lobbyist will be supported by the conservative part of the Parliament.
Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs Nino Burjanadze is another contender on the post of the Parliamentary Chairmanship. Nino Burjanadze is the member of Zurab Zhvania’s reformers’ team.
It was anticipated that conservatives would nominate pro-Presidential fraction Tanadgoma’s leader Elguja Medzmariashvili on the post, but they changed their mind and supported Lortkipanidze’s candidature.
