(Tbilisi. November 24. Civil Georgia) – “Despite our hopes, 8 years of existence of Commonwealth of Independent States demonstrated that the organization is unable to solve Abkhazian conflict,” stated Chairperson of the Georgian Parliament Nino Burjanadze at the CIS Parliamentary assembly in St-Petersburg, Russia.
Georgia demands internationalization of Russian peacekeeping forces in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone under the auspices of the CIS. According to the resolution passed the Georgian Parliament in October presence of CIS peacekeepers in the conflict zone is regarded as inappropriate.
