(Tbilisi, February 2, Civil Georgia) – Georgian State Security Ministry denies that the Georgian authorities are harboring Chechen fighters in Kodori gorge, the only territory of breakaway Abkhazia controlled by the Georgian government.
Representatives of unrecognized Abkhazian government accused Tbilisi officials in protecting Chechen militants in Kodori.
Georgian authorities admit that Chechen fighters were in Abkhazia last October, when armed clashes occurred between Georgian-Chechen joint guerrilla groups.
