(Tbilisi, February 7, Civil Georgia) – Group of Russian experts are to arrive in Georgia on February 7 to hold consultations with the Georgian officials on return of Chechen refugees living in Pankisi gorge, northeastern mountainous region of Georgia.
According to the Georgian Ministry of Refugees and Settlement approximately 7,700 refugees from Chechnya live in Pankisi at the moment.
On February 5 Russian President Vladimer Putin requested Emergency Minister Sergei Shoigu to prepare plan of repatriation of refugees.
