(Tbilisi, February 13, Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze appointed MP Armaz Shamanauri on the post of the governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region on February 13.
The post was vacant after the President dismissed Koba Buchukuri at the government meeting on February 10.
Eduard Shevardnadze sacked Buchukuri on the bases of the report made by Anticorruption Council Secretary Mirian Gogiashvili. According to the report former governor holds shares in the commercial companies. Commercial activity of the state officials is prohibited.
Armaz Shamanauri is the Majoritarians faction member.
