(Tbilisi, March 2, Civil Georgia) – The USA is looking to give Georgia a “substantial increase” this year in the amount of military assistance it provides Tbilisi, US defense officials say, Jane’s Defense Weekly reports.
Report says that assistance will be in addition to a previously planned $11 million, the USA is providing for Georgia’s armed forces in Fiscal Year 2002.
Aid will be used in training and providing equipment for the Georgia armed forces to combat terrorists and fighters harboring in Pankisi gorge.
