(Tbilisi, March 13, Civil Georgia) – “Sukhumi [capital of breakaway Abkhazia] is concerned that the Georgian authorities could try to resolve the Abkhaz problem by military means, “including the use of those units that can be trained for anti-terror operations in the Pankisi gorge,” Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov stated.
Speaking to the State Duma’s deputies today, Russian Foreign Minister said “We declare about the danger of such a choice, as it would significantly destabilize, I would even say, explode, the situation in Georgia itself,” Ivanov said, speaking with the Russian MPs on March 13.
Situation in Abkhazia will be discussed on March 14 at the Georgian Parliamentary session.
