Russian Official Says Terrorist Suspects were Trained in Pankisi

(Tbilisi, May 13, Civil.ge) – Russian Deputy Prosecutor-General Vladimir Kolesnikov stated on May 12 that many of the rebels detained on charges of terrorist attacks in Dagestan were trained in Chechnya and Georgia’s Pankisi gorge.

Russian media sources report quoting Kolesnikov that the investigation had been completed into the criminal case of 20 men involved in the terrorist acts in Makhachkala, Dagestan on 18 January in which seven servicemen of Russian Interior Troops were killed.

Recently reports said that the Russian law enforces detained in Chechnya Georgian citizen suspected in the terrorist attack in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia, on April 28, when the bomb explosion in the trade center killed 7 and injured 46 people.
