(Tbilisi, June 1, Civil Georgia) – Head of the Central Elections Commission (CEC) Jumber Lominadze will hold consultations with President Shevardnadze today. The decision was made at the meeting between the CEC and political parties.
The President and the CEC leader will discuss some parties’ proposal for delaying the local elections. Other option is to correct all the mistakes in electoral lists, the documents confirming which the parties presented to the CEC.
Leaders of the political blocks and parties voicing these demands, including: Mikheil Saakashvili’s National Movement, Zurab Zhvania’s Team, the Traditionalists, the People’s Party, the Industrialists, the Labor Party, the Socialists, “Tanadgoma” and “Ertoba” will also meet the president.
