New MPs in Parliament

(Tbilisi, June 18, Civil Georgia) – Five new MPs were introduced to the Parliament today. Four of them are the winners of the by-elections.

Former high official Badri Khatidze, supporter of Zurab Zhvania Mikheil Machavariani, former General Prosecutor Jamlet Babilashvili and Nika Kvezereli, former chief of special operation unit at the Security Ministry are the new Parliamentarians.

The fifth new MP – Zurab Nasaraia replaced Levan Gachechiladze, leader of the New Rights party, which is elected in Tbilisi city council – Sakrebulo and left the Parliament. Nasaraia is endorsed in the Parliament as he was in the party list of the Citizens’ Union of Georgia (CUG) party. According to the preliminary information, he will become the member of the CUG Parliamentary faction.
