(Tbilisi, June 20, Civil Georgia) – District court of Tbilisi satisfied claim of the National Movement to recount the votes, cast on June 2 local self-governance elections in Tbilisi today.
“This is very serious case which should prevent frauds during the elections in the future,” MP Koba Davitashvili of National Movement told the Civil Georgia on June 20.
Mikheil Saakashvili’s National Movement claims that the locals were held with the numerous procedural violations, thus the votes should be recounted.
The Labors Party of Georgia received the most of the votes during the elections. National Movement follows the Labors Party.
The Central Election Commission took the decision to recount the votes although canceled the decision later.
Several other political groups also demand to recount the votes.
