Georgian, Russian Experts Talk on Military Aspects of Framework Agreement

(Tbilisi, June 27, Civil Georgia) – Georgian and Russian experts discuss military issues of the Framework Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries. Military aspects are the most troubled issue of the agreement.

The talks are held in Moscow on June 27-28. The sides will discuss the issue of Russian military base in Batumi (Adjarian Autonomous Republic) and Akhalkalaki (southern part of Georgia).

Russia demands to at least 10 years for withdrawal from these military bases, while the Georgian side insists to pull out from Batumi and Akhalkalaki within the 3 years.
